My Paper Pumpkin arrived today!

I’ve been down with a very sore back since Saturday which has kept me home from work.  A little box arrived in the mail today that brought a little bit of happiness into my day.

Inside the little box was a creative escape just waiting for me.  I opened the box and discovered my surprise wrapped up in white tissue paper and sealed with this adorable sticker.

When I removed the tissue paper I found all the necessary elements to create 4 cards, including a 2-piece stamp set and a size D clear block.

I got to work putting the pieces together and created these 4 cards – only 1 of which is exactly like the instructions included with the kit.  I added a couple of extra elements to 2 of the cards to add a little variety to the mix.

Big changes for My Digital Studio starting today!

My Digital Studio Big Changes Starting Today

My Digital Studio
Big Changes Starting Today

Stampin’ Up! has been working on some big changes to the My Digital Studio product line.  Starting today:

  1. They have changed the name of the software from MDS 2 (and MDS 2+) to MDS.
  2. They’ve lowered the price.  What has been known as MDS 2+ is now $19.95 US/$24.95 CAN.

Coming soon:

  1. The upgrade will be free!  If you have been holding onto the original My Digital Studio software, you will be able to upgrade to the new software for free.  I will let you know when it is available.  Stampin’ Up! has discontinued the item number for the MDS 2 Upgrade (item 130650).
  2. My Digital Studio will soon be available to our friends in Australia and New Zealand.

Other information:

    • MyDigitalStudio.net is currently under construction as they make all of the changes.  Just keep in mind that you may see outdated information for awhile.
    • They will remove the My Digital Studio Catalog at the end March from MyDigitalStudio.net.  If you would like to keep of copy of it, go grab it before then.  They have not been maintaining this file and since it is so outdated, they feel like it’s time to delete it.
    • I understand that when a price changes after you have made a recent purchase it can be frustrating.  If you purchased the software at the old price from March 1 to March 17, 2013, the following will be added to your Download Manager by Wednesday, March 20:MDS 2+ or MDS 2
    • Up To Date Planner Template (item133271, retail value $14.95 US/$18.50 CAN)
    • Hello There Kit (item 133374, retail value $9.95 US/$12.50 CAN)
    • Everyday Woodcuts Embellishments (item 132191, retail value $5.95 US/$7.95 CAN)

MDS Upgrade

    • Hello There Kit (item 133374, retail value $9.95 US/$12.50 CAN)

Best made plans …

Well, the weekend has managed to come and go too quickly and I failed to get the time I wanted to spend in my craft room.  I decided to crop the giant crepe myrtle tree in the front of my house on Saturday and strained my back during the process.  I guess I’m truly getting too old to do these types of tasks myself 🙁

I didn’t want the entire weekend to pass without adding a post to my blog.  Instead of sharing a handmade project with you I thought I’d share some information with you about the new Photopolymer stamps that Stampin’ Up! is offering on a trial basis.

Photopolymer Stamps by Stampin' Up! {Offered on a trial basis only}

{Offered on a trial basis only}

Stampin’ Up! searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping.  And they found it.  I’m excited to announce that Stampin’ Up! now has wood-mount, clear-mount AND photopolymer stamps!  The top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and with the introduction of our firm-foam pads, let’s just say they’re meant for each other!  Photopolymer stamps will also be unique, fun designs that will inspire you and provide more versatile options you may not see in our traditional wood- and clear-mount stamp options.

Designer Typeset Photopolymer Stamp Set Item # 132956  $13.95 {Recommend clear blocks A, B, G, F, and I. Sold separately}

Item # 132956 $13.95
{Recommend clear blocks A, B, G, F, and I. Sold separately}

What makes them so great?

  • They’re entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable.  The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • Can you say sticky?  (Don’t worry; in a good way.)  These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They’re age tested.  They won’t yellow or cloud up over time.
  • We could go on, but we’ll let you try them for yourself.

Photopolymer stamps will be offered on a trial basis.  Based on popularity,  Stampin’ Up! hopes to release more photopolymer stamp sets over the coming months.  At this time they don’t plan on offering a line of photopolymer sets as expansive as our wood-mount and clear-mount lines.

I just ordered my set and will post some projects just as soon as I can play with them!

I hope you had time this weekend to play with your stamps.  I promise to share something creative with you very soon.

Hugs,
Linda

Spring is in the Air

Spring Surprise Promotion

Spring Surprise Promotion

Spring is definitely in the air, and I can’t wait to share with you all the new products in the 2013-2014 annual catalog.  Here’s a pre-sneak peek look at A Round Array!

Starting today through May 30, 2013, Stampin’ Up! is offering a sneak peek of this stamp set bundled with the coordinating 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch (introduced in the 2013 spring catalog) just in time for Sale-A-Bration for 15% off (order by March 22 to take advantage of the FREE Sale-A-Bration item for every $50 in products you purchase)!

Spring is in the air promotion 2

Spring Surprise Bundle*
Item # 133899 $23.95

You already have the 7/8″ scallop punch?  Don’t fret – you can just order the stamp set (A Round Array Stamp Set*; Item # 129090  $14.95) [*only available as a clear mount set during this promotion; will be offered in wood mount in the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog].  (Also available in Spanish and French – contact me for more information!)

I don’t know about you but I’m really digging these product “bundles” that Stampin’ Up! now offers for some of their coordinating products.  Did you know that if you purchase these items as a bundle rather than individually that you save 15%?  Sweet!

I have big plans this weekend to spend a lot of time in my craft room so that I have projects to post and share with you.  I hope you are able to spend some time creating with your stamps, inks and papers this weekend too.

Hugs,
Linda

Always be prepared

I’ve been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator for almost five years (come this July).  I absolutely love being a demonstrator for this fabulous company but I have a hard time approaching people to tell them about Stampin’ Up! and asking them to host a stampin’ party.

Saturday I was wearing one of my Stampin’ Up! shirts I bought at Convention two years ago.  I stopped into CVS Pharmacy to pick up a prescription refill and this time I went into the store instead of going through the drive-thru window.  My neighborhood pharmacist Kay noticed my shirt and commented on it and asked me where I got it.  I explained to her that I’m a demonstrator for Stampin’ Up!, an arts and crafts oriented direct sales company, and that the shirt was the design from one of our exclusive designer series papers.  She said “why haven’t I heard of them” and then asked for a catalog.  Sadly I failed miserably in “being prepared 101” – I did not have one in my car!

Early this morning I put together eight catalog sets (Annual Catalog, Spring Catalog and the Sale-a-bration Flyer) in a clear Stampin’ Up! logo bag and set out to distribute them all today.  I handed out three to some ladies I ride the DART train with everyday and then I handed out three more to Kay and her co-workers at CVS.   Six out of eight isn’t too bad of an accomplishment in one day (for me anyways)!

I still have plenty of catalogs available so if you don’t have one and want one, leave me a comment or send me an email and I will get one right out to you!

Below is a photo from a couple of years ago taken at one of our upline / downline meetings – this is the shirt I was wearing on Saturday (that’s me in the middle).

Hello world!

I’ve been wanting to start a “real blog” for some time and finally worked up the nerve to give it a try.  I know a couple of fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who use WordPress for their blogs and they led me to believe it was pretty easy (haha, not true!).  Since I’m not an HTML code expert, I have been struggling to get my Blog ready to go public.

I think I’m just about there so I’m going to get the word out to all my friends and hope that a few of them will find my Blog follow-worthy and will subscribe to follow my posts!

Before I go I wanted to share with you one of the display projects from the Stampin’ Up! Dallas Regional event from February.  I don’t remember which on-stage presenter had this lovely frame as part of her presentation but I do know it was made using My Digital Studio and the Artisan Embellishments Kit from the 2013 Spring Catalog ~ Enjoy!
