From Shaving Cream to Marble-ous

What does shaving cream have to do with stamping?  Absolutely nothing, or so one would think, right?  However, it appears nothing is off limits when it comes to creativity over at the Stampin’ Up! home office.  Take a little shaving cream, add some drops of Stamin’ Up! ink and give it a little swirl/stir, then just add paper.  Sounds a little crazy until you see it for yourself.  Here is a video to prove my case:

I am so going to try this technique–but I think my husband uses shaving gel so I likely will need to make a run to the store first.

Well tomorrow I have high hopes of spending time getting my fingers all inky playing with my new stamps so I hope to have something I have actually made to share with you in the coming days.  Can you feel the anticipation?

As a reminder, there are two weeks remaining to take advantage of Sale-A-Bration.  These products are available while supplies last and FREE with every $50 purchase.  Sadly, the card tin is already sold out, but that still leaves 15 other products to choose from:

Thank you for stopping by.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.

March Paper Pumpkin – Bunnylicious

Mea culpa my friends.  Alas I did not spend time in my craft room last weekend so I have no new projects to share with you.  It was a very emotional weekend—my Mom’s beloved chocolate lab “Hallie” who has been a part of our family for 13 years took her journey across the Rainbow Bridge.  She was such a gentle giant and will be sorely missed.  In the days following I have been stuck in a migraine vacuum that does not want to seem to let go.  If it would only rain as they have been predicting for nearly two weeks, perhaps I would finally get some relief.  But enough with the sad pity talk …

I have seen the March Paper Pumpkin kit—while I have not yet received mine (I hope it comes today), the video is now available for all to see (click on photo to view):

Oh I sure hope they have the refill kit available for purchase for this one—that is super duper cute!

If you missed the March 10 deadline to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin to receive the March kit above, you have until April 10 to register for the upcoming April kit—designed by Stampin’ Up! CEO Sara Douglass.  Then, you have the option to purchase prior kits while supplies last.  Can you say “win win”?

As I mentioned in a prior post, Stampin’ Up! turned creative control of their April kit over to CEO, Sara Douglass, and the end result is stunning!  Her style is, “bold, vibrant, and artistic—with a little bit of sass,” which is exactly how she described the kit.  Sara designed this kit for you, so you can discover creativity through the eyes of our CEO while having an experience that is uniquely YOU!  Get ready to embrace your inner artist and skip to the fun with Sara.

As if a kit designed by Sara is not reason enough to sign up, there’s more!  She’s including a FREE gift inside every April box!  We’re keeping it a surprise, but you won’t want to miss it.  One more surprise—Sara was live on Facebook yesterday and she spilled the beans that she used one of the new In-Colors in this kit—oh my!

What do you need to do? It’s simple—sign up at PaperPumpkin.com by April 10.  If you need help signing up, I am here to lend a hand.

Thanks for stopping by.  Sorry for being absent for a week.  I will try to do better and really do hope to make something in my craft room this weekend.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.

There’s a Kit for You

If you are new to crafting, or you just want projects you can put together quickly, then kits from Stampin’ Up! are for you.  Stampin’ Up! has measured, cut and coordinated everything so you don’t have to.  From their easy standard kits to more involved project kits, there is bound to be a kit that is just right for you.

There are currently two all-inclusive kits available — Oh Happy Day and Watercolor Wishes — each kit yields 20 unique cards.  “All-inclusive” means that it includes all the materials you need to make your cards (with instructions) plus a stamp set and ink spot. The only thing you need to provide is adhesive.

There are currently four project kits available — Birthday Bright, Designer Tin of Cards, Perfectly Wrapped and Vertical Garden.  The project kits include all the materials you need to make your cards (with instructions); however, coordinating stamp sets are sold separately and you would need to provide adhesive (a hot glue gun is recommended for the Vertical Garden kit).  These kits yield the following completed projects:

Birthday Bright:  12 cards (4 each of 3 designs) and 12 gift tags (4 each of 3 designs) — Coordinates with Birthday Bright Stamp Set

Designer Tin of Cards:  16 cards (4 each of 4 designs) — Coordinates with Tin of Cards Stamp Set

Perfectly Wrapped:  16 personalized packages (4 each of 4 designs) — Coordinates with Perfectly Wrapped Stamp Set

Vertical Garden:  one home decor piece — Coordinates with Vertical Garden Stamp Set

These coordinating stamp sets are the cherry on top when completing your Stampin’ Up! project kits.

And for the ultimate kit that will come to your mail box automatically each month, don’t forget a monthly subscription to Paper Pumpkin.  Visit my post here for more information.

Whatever kit you choose, you will have a great time getting your craft on.  If you would like my assistance or company, just ask.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.

The Colors of Stampin’ Up!

One of the best things about Stampin’ Up! is the product coordination.  Stampin’ Up! offers coordinating tools and stamps, paper and accessories, ribbon and ink — all to make your stamping experience the best it can be.

For Stampin’ Up!, coordination is an obsession.  A few matching products just isn’t enough; they carry color coordination across entire product lines so you can easily create a masterpiece, whatever your level of experience may be.  As part of their color coordination, they have developed their own signature color collections to give you groups of colors that work well together in projects.  Use them as entire collections, or mix and match them to get just the right feeling for any occasion.

There are five color collections, each containing 10 colors — do the math.  That’s 50 different colors!

  • In Color Collection (2016-2018) *
    • Dapper Denim

* The In Color Collection runs on a two year cycle.  A new set of five colors is introduced each year to replace the retiring five colors.  This helps keep Stampin’ Up! colors on trend and gives you a fresh collection of coordinating products.

  • Regals Collection
    • Always Artichoke
    • Cajun Craze
    • Cherry Cobbler
    • Crushed Curry
    • Elegant Eggplant
    • Garden Green

    • Wisteria Wonder

Each color collection is offered in an assortment of products including 12″ x 12″ Cardstock, 8-1/2″ x 11″ Cardstock, Designer Series Paper Stack, Classic Stampin’ Pads, Classic Stampin’ Ink Refills (to reink your Stampin’ Pads), Stampin’ Write Markers, ribbons and embellishments.  You can purchase each color separately or as a color collection.

(NOTE:  The Neutrals Classic Stampin’ Pads color collection only includes six pads.  Basic Black and Basic Gray are available in a different formula ink – Archival.  Whisper White is available in Craft ink.  Very Vanilla is not available as an ink color.)

I would list all of the available products here, but then this would be one very long blog post (or longer than it already is).  If you want to see more, click on the Annual Catalog link to the right — or contact me for an actual copy of the Annual Catalog which I would happily send (or bring) to you.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope this post brings a little color into your day.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Every Special Reason to Find Beauty

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder or more appropriately for this post today — the card holder.

In the 2017 Occasions Catalog you will find an awesome stamp set and framelits “bundle” that makes incredibly beautiful cards and 3-D projects — Special Reason Bundle.

Of course you could purchase the stamp set by itself and “fussy cut” images by hand, but the framelits save you time and make such a clean and perfect cut — and just look at that peek-a-boo window on the card!   Plus, when you purchase these products as a bundle, you save 10% — bonus!  The stamps are available in both wood-mount and clear-mount and are of the high-quality red rubber variety.

Whatever option you select, I bet you dollars to donuts that there is at least one person in your life who would love to hold in their hands a beautiful card handmade by you!  Not creative, you say?  Of course you are, I can show you how!

Have you been kicking around the idea of subscribing to Paper Pumpkin?  Well, there is still time to get the March kit — subscribe by Friday, March 10.  Then, get ready for a big surprise coming in April — a kit inspired and designed by Stampin’ Up! CEO, Sara Douglass.  I can share more information with you after March 11!  Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!

***************************************************************************

Okay, now if you are a regular visitor to my blog you are probably asking yourself, when is she going to make something and post it already.  I hope to get there soon as I really do miss getting my fingers all inky.

On a personal note, I was diagnosed last year with primary immunodeficiency disease, which I admit is a very scary term but it simply means my body’s immune system is broken and I no longer generate antibodies to fight off infections (and explains why I got sick so easily and could not get rid of bronchitis for over six months).  It is not contagious. While there is no cure, there is a treatment that I started in September called IGA infusion. Every three weeks I sit in an infusion center for five+ hours with an IV in my arm receiving human blood proteins that help my body generate antibodies.  The good news is that my IGA levels have increased from low 200’s to high 800’s (normal is around 1200); the bad news is that it makes me extremely tired for about a week afterwards.  I just had one on March 3rd and I hope to spend time in my craft room this weekend so I should have lots of projects to share with you soon.

In the meantime, I would love to see your projects.

Thanks for stopping by.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Reverse Words

Reverse Words Stamp Set

The designs in the Reverse Words Stamp Set are bold enough to stand on their own for a cute, simple effect.  This makes it the perfect set for creating lots of party invites or thank you cards.  The designs also look gorgeous when stepped up with layers and bling for a project worthy of a special someone.  It’s amazing all you can do with just two awesome stamps!

Check out this video from Stampin’ Up! to see what I am talking about:

Made for Each Other

There are two products currently available from Stampin’ Up! that are simply “MFEO” – made for each other!  Bonus points if you can name the movie that reference comes from….  Which products you ask?  Why, the WatercColor Pencils and the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper, of course.

Stampin’ Up! reintroduced Watercolor Pencils with the release of the Occasions Catalog back in January.  What makes these different from those from years ago?  These are true Stampin’ Up! colors (set of 13 — Basic Black, Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie,  Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White).  They are high-quality, smooth color pencils that are perfect for watercoloring stamped images.  Use with Aqua Painters® (AC p. 180), Blender Pens (AC p. 180), or alone.  Acid free, lignin free.

The Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper is one of the FREE Sale-A-Bration items and include 12 sheets of 12×12 black and white floral designs (3 each of 4 designs) which can be colored or simply used as is.  Did I mention you can get this item for FREE?  That’s right — with any $50 purchase you get one FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration catalogs while supplies last until March 31, 2017.

Below are two videos from Stampin’ Up! — one for each of these products — to tell you a little bit more about them.

Thanks again for stopping by.  If I can help answer any questions you may have regarding these or any other products offered by Stampin’ Up!, I look forward to hearing from you.

Until next time, stamp on my friends.

It’s Stamp Time

Stampin’ Up! wouldn’t be Stampin’ Up! without their stamps!  In fact, stamps are their core product, and they have a robust offering.  Their stamps come in three styles, are made from superior materials in the USA and are beautifully packaged in DVD-style cases with stamp images on the spine for easy storage and quick reference.

Wood-Mount Stamps

Our high-quality wood-mount rubber stamps are precut and come with farmed-maple wood blocks.  Mount these stamps permanently on the blocks and they’re ready to go when you are.  The premium red rubber will last for years and give a crisp, clear stamped impression each time.

Clear-Mount Stamps

Our high-quality clear-mount stamps are made of the same high-quality rubber as our wood-mount stamps, but they’re repositionable.  Temporarily mount these precut stamps on clear blocks for stamping, then remove them for space-saving storage.  You’ll only need one set of blocks for all your clear-mount stamps (blocks sold separately).

Photopolymer Stamps

Our top-quality photopolymer stamps are entirely transparent for perfect image placement, and they adhere well to our clear blocks.  They’re flexible and easy to line up, giving you even more creative possibilities with each set.  You can mix and match, bend, and layer images easily.  You’ll only need one set of blocks for all your photopolymer stamps (blocks sold separately).

Here is a video from Stampin’ Up! that helps explain the differences:

As Shannon states in the closing of this video, with three types of stamps to choose from you will surely find the type of stamp set to suit whatever stamping need you have in mind.  If I can be of any assistance in helping you make your selection, just ask.

Thanks for stopping by.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.

#imbringingbirthdaysback

You know you have done this — you are looking through a Stampin’ Up! catalog and are immediately turned off from a stamp set or product suite simply because you do not like the colors — I know I have.

Today I am sharing with you a video from the fabulous Shannon West at Stampin’ Up!’s home office where she demonstrates that simply changing the colors in a project creates a whole new look!

So as the old saying goes, never judge a book by its cover.  I guess this can be applied to crafting — never judge a project by its color scheme.  I confess that I did and passed on these stamp sets / suites myself.  Now I will have to give this further consideration on whether these need to be added to my wish list (a/k/a “must have list”) … you know you have one of those too.

Over a year ago Shannon started a movement – #imbringingbirthdaysback – where she started a mailing list of everyone who wanted to receive a handmade birthday card from her.  She designed and Stampin’ Up! manufactured a custom stamp to commemorate the occasion.  I was the happy recipient of card #1859 in November 2016!

Here is a video that shows all of the cards that Shannon received on her birthday:

Join me in the birthday card revolution — make handmade cards and actually mail them out to your friends and family for their birthdays.  After all – a card is a hug with a fold in the middle.

Thank you for dropping by.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.
