Introducing the 2017 Holiday Catalog by Stampin’ Up!

It’s here – it’s finally here!  It is opening day for customer’s to place orders from the new 2017 Holiday Catalog.  You will find a link in the right-hand side of my blog.

Below is a video from the Stampin’ Up! home office which will show you in a flash some of the great projects they created with these new products.

I hope to have a few of my own projects to share with you soon.

I spent most of my day today trying to resolve my technical issues with my blog.  I think I have done so (proof will be if I get an email with this post tomorrow).  But I see that my post from yesterday disappeared.  So I guess I will be recreating that one tomorrow as well.

If you need a copy of the new Holiday Catalog to hold in your hands and drool over, let me know and I will get one to you as soon as possible.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Winter Wonder with Flurry of Wishes

For those of you who follow my blog through Feedburner, that feature is no longer working so you will not automatically receive an email each time I post an entry to my blog.  I hope to figure out an alternative over the next few days to resolve the issue.

I did get creative today without the need of digging into a Paper Pumpkin kit.  I included the new textured impressions embossing folder of a large snowflake called Winter Wonder in my pre-order.  It is a lovely snowflake and I wanted to see what it would look like embossed onto a piece of vellum.  I love how this turned out!

Ok, yes I did some fussy cutting with my paper snips but the effect was so worth the hassle!  I used the greeting from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set that carried over to the Annual Catalog from last year’s Holiday Catalog (another stamp set I bought that I didn’t really get the chance to use last year – thank you Stampin’ Up! for the carry over!).

Below are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of this card, all of which can quickly be added to your shopping card by clicking on their thumbnails below.  (NOTE:  Those items with an * are available for purchase starting September 1, 2017.)

Price: $110.00

If you have any questions regarding any of the design elements of this card, do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Paper Pumpkin Wonderful Winterland (November 2016)

I am still battling migraine headaches and so to keep things simple I checked my bookcase of Paper Pumpkin boxes and pulled out those past kits that I never assembled that were holiday themed.  Today’s post features the November 2016 kit that was called Wonderful Winterland.  The below photos really do not do this card justice.  The front is layered with dimensionals between the top and middle layers and the cards are not your average size of 4.25″ x 5.50″ – they are 3″ x 4.50″.

There were enough supplies in the kit to make 8 cards and envelopes were included.  These are perfectly sized to use for sending gift cards.  This is an example of the type of kit you could expect to receive as a monthly subscriber to Paper Pumpkin.

Giftable Greetings by Paper Pumpkin

Thankfully my blog is back in service!  Now I can post what I wanted to share with you yesterday.

The issues I was having with my blog are on par with how I have been feeling the last few days since my last IGA infusion.  Headaches have kept me out of my crafting space but I wanted to make something so yesterday I reached for my newest Paper Pumpkin kit – the projects are already designed for me and I have everything I need in the box to make the project!

The kit for August is called Giftable Greetings and includes everything I needed to make 8 cards, including envelopes, and even included a gift box that can be tied up nicely with a bow.  Below are some of my finished cards as well as the cards wrapped up nicely in the gift box.

PP August 2017 - 2.jpg

To make it easy I followed the design layout on the instructions; I simply just used alternate greetings on the tags on front.  I have plenty of extra pieces left over that I can use on other projects if I want – I really love those leaves (they are like stickers and once put in place they do not move).  There is also a refill kit now available for purchase, but only available to Paper Pumpkin subscribers (it’s just $8.00 and you will get all of the cards, envelopes, stickers, gift box and ribbon to make another set!).

Here is the official video from Paper Pumpkin that shows you how easy it is to assemble this kit.  (TIP:  When stamping the flowers, remove them from the sheet first – makes it easier to see the petals!)

There is still time to join as a new Paper Pumpkin subscriber (between now and September 10) and receive 50% off your September kit.  Check out the video below for more information.  You can also contact me or visit paperpumpkin.com.Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.

CASE the Catalog (sort of) – Lovely Friends

Sorry that I did not post yesterday.  I just was not in a creative mood and sometimes a girl just wants to be a couch potato.

But as you can see below, I did get a little creative today.  I received a delivery from my upline’s upline (which makes her my grandma you could say) that contained a stamp set that I won as a reward for participating in a recent event – Lovely Friends.  I love this stamp set because of the large font sentiments that you can use on the card fronts.  I wanted to CASE (copy and share everything – or as I like to call it “scraplift”) the card from page 173 of the Annual Catalog.

The only problem was that I do not have all of the products that they used so I had to improvise.

What do you think?

Below are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of this card, all of which can quickly be added to your shopping cart by clicking on their thumbnails.  (NOTE:  Those items with an * are not available for purchase until September 1, 2o17.)

Price: $110.00

HOLIDAY CATALOG SNEAK PEEK:  Today’s sneak peek video from the Holiday Catalog will introduce you our Christmas edition of Memories & More called Merry Little Christmas Memories & More Card Pack.  If you are a memory keeper (a/k/a scrapbooker), then you will want to be sure to include this collection on your wish list to make your memory keeping of the holidays a snap.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.  I hope to share more projects with you tomorrow and through the weekend; but fair warning – I have my IGA infusion tomorrow so how much I do will depend on how I react to it.  Last one was a breeze; fingers crossed for a repeat result.

Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Ready for Christmas … Stockings & More

I had designers block while working on the card I am sharing with you today.  It took me two days to get it just right.  I used the same stamp set as my previous post – Ready for Christmas – but this time I went beyond just the Christmas tree … way beyond one could say.

There were so many things to be considered when designing this card.  Should I put the table on the left side or on the right side?  If I put it on the right side would it look silly and be in the way of the stairs?  Did I want the Dachshund to be peering up at the plate of cookies for Santa or did I want her to be looking upstairs for her favorite human to come down and play with her?  I stamped the pine garland and cut it out with the thinlit, but I didn’t like the flat look, so I added the pine stems as well.  The options go one and on …  All in all I think I made some good decisions.

Below are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of this card, all of which can quickly be added to your shopping card by clicking on the thumbnails below.  (NOTE:  those items with an * cannot be purchased until September 1.)

Price: $110.00

I also used my Stampin’ Write markers in the following colors to color the framed art, cookies for Santa and the Dachsund (markers are no longer sold separately – sold in color families):  Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake.

If you have any other questions regarding any design elements of this card, do not hesitate to ask.

HOLIDAY CATALOG SNEAK PEEK:  Today’s Holiday Catalog sneak peek video showcases one of my favorite product bundles – Hearts Come Home.  Since I needed to try and keep my order within a reasonable budget, I unfortunately was not able to include this as part of my pre-order.  However, I have high hopes that I will be able to order this one very soon.

So many project ideas are running around inside my head!

Ready for Christmas … Tree

With as hot as it has been here in Texas, it is a little hard to get motivated to even think about Christmas or making Christmas cards.  If not for the delightful new products I received in my pre-order from the Holiday Catalog, I likely would be sitting on the sofa directly under the ceiling fan enjoying a cold bottle of water or Diet Coke.

Today I decided to try to make a card with the bundle that caught my eye on first glance through the catalog when it was published online for all demonstrators to see – Ready for Christmas.  This bundle includes a photopolymer stamp set and a coordinating set of thinlits that will allow you to create homey scenes including a staircase, a very luscious Christmas tree, wall art, a pedestal table, cookies for Santa, stockings, gifts, ornaments and a stinking cute Dachshund wearing a Christmas sweater.  I decided to focus on the staircase and the tree for the design of my card.

I wanted to do more with this card but I got a little carried away with the branches on the tree (there are two layers of the branches on there!) so I figured that I would just have to make another card featuring some of the other elements of the stamp set and coordinating thinlits.

For the staircase I cut the thinlit out on both Very Vanilla and one of the Wood Textures Design Series Papers.  I then cut the railing off the Very Vanilla piece and attached it to the other with snail adhesive.  (NOTE:  The bottom portion of this thinlit embosses your paper to give you panels instead of cutting out sections like it does on the banister.)

I also made “wood flooring” panels by cutting 1/4″ strips of the same Wood Textures DSP that I used for the banister.  I then cut the 1/4″ strips to 2″ pieces and pieced them at the bottom of the top card mat and staggered them on the second row to resemble actual wood flooring.  Doesn’t really show in the picture, but you can see it in real life.

Below are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of this card, all of which can quickly be added to your shopping cart by clicking on the thumbnails below.  (NOTE:  those items with an * cannot be purchased until September 1.)

Price: $110.00

EDIT:  I used Wild Wasabi card stock for the Christmas tree, Item #108641, $8.00.

If you have any questions about any other design elements of this card, please do not hesitate to contact me.

A “Spooky Cat” for Halloween

If you love to decorate and/or make 3-D items to put your Halloween candy in for gifting to your favorite neighbors, then this year’s Spooky Night Suite and you are MFEO (made for each other).  Sadly there is not a special video for this particular suite that I can share with you, but I used five products from this suite in the design of today’s card.

Yes my cat loving friends – we have a cat punch!  It coordinates with the stamp set (they are offered as a bundle at a 10% savings) as well as with one of the sheets of the designer series paper that has rows and rows of black and orange cats.

Below are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of this card, all of which can quickly be added to your shopping cart by clicking on the thumbnails below.  (NOTE:  those items with an * cannot be purchased until September 1.)

My supply list builder resource did not have the black Vintage Crochet Trim as an option.  That item number is 144611 *, $6.00, 1/4″ wide, 5 yards.

If you have any questions regarding any measurements or other design elements of this card, do not hesitate to ask.

Carols of Christmas with Foil Snowflakes

Are you ready to see some Christmas in August?  If you are not yet ready for Christmas, how about cooler weather and shimmering snowflakes?  Well, I have the snowflakes covered for you today – the cooler weather is just beyond my control.

I am sharing with you today a card that I made using one of the stamps sets from the Merry Little Christmas Suite (the product suite that was featured in the YouTube video in yesterday’s blog post).  The stamp set is called Carols of Christmas and is actually available for purchase NOW as an early release (you do not have to wait until September 1 to get this stamp set – yahoo!).  This stamp set is also offered as part of a bundle that includes coordinating card front builder dies thinlits.

Just what is that silvery thing on each end of the card, you may ask?  Well, that is a foil snowflake that I cut in half.  These snowflakes are beautiful and come in both silver and gold (12 of each).

Below are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of this card, all of which can quickly be added to your shopping cart by clicking on the thumbnails below (those marked with an * are not available for purchase until September 1):

Price: $110.00
