Heartfelt Love Notes

My sincerest apologies for not posting for several days.  I had one of my infusions last Wednesday followed by some devastating news on Thursday – one of my friends who had been battling ovarian cancer died.  She was a few years younger than me and was about to be a “memaw” for a second time.  I have been in the dumps since hearing this terrible news.

So when my January Paper Pumpkin kit arrived this last week I at least had something to look forward to.  This month’s kit is called Heartfelt Love Notes and provides you with enough supplies to make 16 love notes (eight each of two designs).  I pretty much followed the instructions included with the kit, but I see I put my labels on the opposite card bases than the directions indicated.  (Oh well!)

Each card measures 3.50″ x 5.00″ and the kit includes an envelope for each card.

Watch the below video from Paper Pumpkin that shows how to assemble the kit as well as what’s on the inside once you untie the ribbon!

You can send these cards to your loved ones (or friends) as is or you can include a little treat inside the pocket (perhaps a piece of chocolate!).

If you have not yet subscribed to Paper Pumpkin, keep in mind that the 3, 6, 9 or 12 month pre-paid subscriptions qualify for Sale-A-Bration benefits.  Ask me how you can subscribe and take advantage of getting FREE stuff during Sale-A-Bration!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Painted with Love

Getting back to projects from the fabulous Amy Storrie’s group meeting, I am sharing with you today a collection of “narrow” note cards in a box made using the Sure Do Love You bundle from the Painted With Love Suite.  If you love pink and gold foil, then you will absolutely fall head over heals “in love” with this suite of products!

Here is today’s parade of photographs of the box and each card secreted inside:

Of course Amy managed to choose yet another product bundle that I do not have … I’m tempted to add this to my list of must haves because the box is so easy to make (and it can be made smaller or larger with some tweaking).  First world problems!

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that were used in this project which can be added to your shopping cart with a quick click on the thumbnails below:

If you have any questions regarding any of the measurements or techniques used, do not hesitate to ask.  Most of the “work” is done by the gorgeous DSP!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Myths & Magic in a Box

Wizards, dragons. knights, mermaids and unicorns — oh my!  That is what you will find when you venture into the world of the Myths & Magic Suite!

I really want this product suite, but since I do not have any kiddos of my own I am having a difficult time justifying buying it, other than it is just so darn cute!

Thankfully Amy used a few of the products from this oh so cute suite for one of her projects.  And here it is:

Inside this silver gable box is a little snack cake.  A piece of the Myths & Magic DSP measuring 12″ x 2″ is attached around the box.  (NOTE:  Amy’s original design had the ribbon tied around the box parallel with the DSP; I altered the ribbon to tie horizontally and held it in place on the sides and bottom with mini glue dots.)

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that were used in the design of the box which can be added to your shopping cart by clicking on the thumbnails below:

If you have any questions regarding any other design elements of this project do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Petal Palette Home

I was so looking forward to attending the Stamped with Joy group meeting today to spend some time with my sister stampers at Amy Storrie’s newly remodeled home in Denton but as luck would have it I caught some kind of germs from someone (a/k/a my husband!) and I was not up to going.

Thankfully I am part of a fantastic group of stampers and one of them volunteered to drop off my bag of materials on her way home (not really on her way so that makes it extra special) and Amy sent me photos of what the projects should look like.  Fingers crossed I can figure them all out.  If not, I will be bugging Amy with lots of questions (her projects are fantastic by the way!).

Lucky for me many of Amy’s projects use the Stampin’ Blends so I am going to have a lot of fun as I work my way through the 15 (yes, I said 15!) projects she had prepared for us using the new products from the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs.  Here is the first project I chose to complete:

Now how cute is this home décor item?  It uses just about everything offered as part of the Petal Passion Suite – a suite that I absolutely love but do not have yet (I smell a new order on the horizon!).  This was a really quick and easy project that delivers a big WOW factor.

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that were used in the design of this project which can be added to your shopping cart with a quick click on the thumbnails below:

To make a project like this, you will need:

  • 5″ x 7″ frame
  • Basic Black cardstock cut to 5″ x 7″
  • Designer Series Paper cut to 4″ x 6″

I attached my piece of 4″ x 6″ piece of DSP to the Basic Black cardstock with dimensionals to give it more depth.  The letters are also attached with dimensionals.  I removed the glass from the front of the frame and put it behind the cardstock.

If you have any other questions regarding this project, do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Cue the Confetti for a Picture Perfect Birthday

I decided to let the designer series paper “do the talking” for my project today.  Have you purchased the 6 x 6 paper pack of the Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Catalog?  If not, it is definitely one of the designer series papers that needs to be on your short list of “must haves”.

As the name indicates, one side of the paper is “picture perfect” photographic imagery while the other side has graphically designed imagery.  The photographic imagery is so life like it’s as though you could reach out and touch it (especially the one with the pictures of the donuts!).  But I will let you see for yourself on my card:

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of this card which can be added to your shopping cart with a quick click on the thumbnails below:

I used two different pieces of the Picture Perfect Party DSP on my project – the confetti background and I cut out two of the party blowers from another and attached them to the front with dimensionals.  I added a coat of Clear Wink of Stella to both of the blowers as well as over the letters of the sentiment.  This is a quick and easy card and it takes very little supplies to make!

If you have any other questions regarding the design elements of this card do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.

A Beautiful Peacock for Sale-A-Bration

I think Stampin’ Up! hit it out of the park with this year’s selection of products for Sale-A-Bration.  I have placed my fair share of orders since December and I have yet to exhaust my selection of products.

I chose one of the stamp sets from Sale-A-Bration for today’s project – Beautiful Peacock.  There are so many different ways you could create your peacock’s tail feathers.  For my card, I chose to heat emboss in silver and gold.  Here is today’s card:

It took me two attempts to get the look I was happy with – I originally tried to also include copper embossing but it was a bit too much.

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that were used in the design of this project which can be added to your shopping cart with a quick click on the thumbnails below:

When I started building my peacock, I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut to 4.00″ x 5.25″ which was rubbed with my embossing buddy.  I first stamped the scalloped fan tail feathers in VersaMark and added the gold embossing powder and heat set.

After allowing the gold embossing to cool I rubbed my card again with the embossing buddy and stamped the peacock’s body inside the fan tail feathers with VersaMark (being as careful as possible to align the stamp to the open space) and added the silver embossing powder and heat set.

After allowing the silver peacock’s body to cool down I rubbed my card again with the embossing buddy and stamped the swirly vine tail feathers in VersaMark and added the silver embossing powder and heat set (I stamped and added embossing powder to each as I stamped but heat set all three at the same time).

After allowing the silver vine tail feathers to cool down I rubbed my card again with the embossing buddy and stamped the curved leave stems tail feathers in VersaMark and added the gold embossing powder and heat set (following the same process as above).

I ended up fussy cutting out my peacock because I did not like all of the empty white space but found that it lost its “wow” factor if the entire background was DSP.  So I attached to the card front with dimensionals with a piece of DSP cut to 2.50″ x 4.00″.

If you have any other questions regarding the design elements of this card, do not hesitate to ask.

If you would like to know how you could get this stamp set for FREE, then contact me for more information about Sale-A-Bration – don’t miss out on the biggest sales event of the year!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Amazing You on Stained Glass

Today’s project was inspired by the most amazing piece of card artistry that I have seen in a long time.  It was created by a fellow demonstrator Sheran Rigg who lives in Virginia using one of the new color mediums offered in the Occasions Catalog – Brusho Crystal Colour (watercolor ink crystals).  Here is her card:

Believe it or not I did not order the Brusho – I didn’t think it would be something that I would ever use or want.  But now after seeing this card and many other cards that my fellow demonstrators have made and shared using this new color medium, I of course must now have it.  Especially since I was not able to recreate this look using the tools I have on hand.

After about four attempts to recreate Sheran’s card which she had stamped onto glossy white cardstock, heat embossed in gold and then added the Brusho by mixing the crystals with rubbing alcohol (so it dries faster) and carefully “dropping” it onto the card in specific areas, I threw up my hands in defeat and opted to recreate her layout as a stained glass technique.  So here is my version of her card:

Both the Amazing You stamp set and the Celebrate You Thinlits are Sale-A-Bration items (Level 1 and Level 2, respectively) and can be earned for FREE with a $50 (Level1) or $100 (Level 2) purchase (before tax and shipping).  On a side note, the Celebrate You Thinlits will be available in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  (I believe this is the first time that a Sale-A-Bration item has ever been carried over!)

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of this card which can be added to your shopping cart with the quick click on the thumbnails below:

You cannot tell from the photos, but I stamped the flowers onto a piece of vellum cut to 4.00″ x 5.25″ in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coated with clear embossing powder (since I was stamping multiple times I applied the embossing powder to each flower after I stamped so the ink did not dry) and then heat set.  As with yesterday’s project, I flipped over the vellum piece and colored the flowers on the back side and when assembling the card front it is attached colored side down, embossed side up (I used mini glue dots strategically placed (behind stamped images) so they could not be seen through the vellum.

The vellum itself is attached to a piece of Glossy White cardstock cut to the same size, which in turn is attached to a piece of Basic Black cardstock that is 1/8″ larger on all four sides.  This piece is attached to the card base with dimensionals.

The “celebrate” is die cut using the Celebrate You thinlits.  I coated the front in VersaMark and then added clear embossing powder and heat set so that it blends in with the shininess of the rest of the card.  It is attached to the card front with fine-tip glue.

If you have any other questions regarding the design elements of this card do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Southern Serenade on Stained Glass

Finally!  My technical issues have been resolved.  I tell you, I am pretty computer savvy but these blog issues are shaving years off of my life.  The host’s server got hung up in a loop and was rejecting all attempts to access my website and after that was identified and corrected, one of the plug-ins that I use to power my website needed to be deactivated and then reactivated for it to behave properly.  I love technology and how far we have come during my lifetime, but at other times I curse its existence.

Now on to the project that I wanted to share with you all over two days ago that I shared with you briefly on my Facebook business page.  As I mentioned in that post, I used one of the new stamp sets from the Occasions Catalog – Southern Serenade.  This stamp set reminds me of all things vintage – the lace, flowers and even the font used on the greetings are pure perfection.  I have to admit however that I did not notice this stamp set the first dozen or so times I looked through the new catalog.  There are so many marvelous bundles and suites of products that draw your attention away from single, stand alone stamp sets.  Don’t let this one escape your attention.  And here is the card:

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that were used in the design of this card which can be added to your shopping cart with a quick click on the thumbnails below:

Check out that ribbon.  I got it for FREE as part of Sale-A-Bration!  It is a Level 1 option (FREE with a  $50 purchase before tax and shipping) and includes three rolls of ribbon, one each in Calypso Coral (as shown in my project), Basic Gray and Bermuda Bay.

To create the lace background piece, I cut a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock to 4.00″ x 5.25″ and started in the top left corner and stamped the lace in Early Espresso ink.  I was lucky with my stamp placement going across and down as I reinked the stamp and repeated by 3 across and 3 down for a total of 9 stamps, the bottom 3 will be partial stamps since only about 2.00″ or so of area will remain.  (I tried using Crumb Cake ink but I did not get the lace detail that I did with the darker Early Expresso.)  I added a Whisper White mat that is 1/8 larger on all sides and attached to card base with dimensionals.

The flowers are stamped on a piece of vellum in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and covered with clear embossing powder, then heat set.  After the embossed area has cooled, I flipped over the stamped and embossed piece of vellum and colored the flowers with Stampin’ Blends.  I fussy cut the flowers out with my paper snips.

The doily is attached to the card front with dimensionals.  The die cut circle is attached to the doily with snail.  The vellum flower is attached with glue dots.

If you have any other questions regarding the design of this card do not hesitate to contact me.  I had a lot of fun making this card and am glad I finally am able to share it fully with you.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.
