Sweet Cake Soiree Best Wishes

I am not a very good cake decorator but I feel like I am a cake decorating professional whenever I use the Cake Soiree stamp set!  I was oh so happy that Amy Storrie used the Sweet Soiree product suite for one of her projects last month.  However, she went “whole hog” on her original project including the decorative masks and silver embossing paste, two products from the suite that I do not have.

What did I do?  I modified her original design by substituting the cake image stamp to the one with the flowers on it.  I also added the thin silver metallic ribbon.  Here is today’s card project:

Amy’s cake on her card was stamped in Powder Pink on Whisper White cardstock.  Since I substituted the cake stamp image, I also stamped on Whisper White, but I used my Blends to color in the cake layers, using the darker shade on the tops.

Bird Banter Pun Fun

If you thought the Party Pandas were cute, then you will fall in love with the birds in the Bird Banter stamp set.  If you are a punster at heart, then the cherry on top is that several of the sentiments are tongue in cheek puns.  This is the perfect set to add your own sense of color and humor to your handmade cards.

Sadly I do not have this stamp set – yet.  But I really had fun with Amy Storrie’s project using this stamp set from her recent group meeting.  It is a really simple layout and takes very little time to put together.  Here is today’s card:

On Amy’s photo she sent to me, she had colored the bird’s head feathers yellow as well as its beak, but left the rest of the bird white.  I wanted my bird to have a little more attitude so I added a unicorn Mohawk and gave his body some color. Those Stampin’ Blends sure do come in handy!

Bubble Over with Kindness

Soda bottles and straws bring back fond memories of my childhood when you could buy a bottle of ice cold Coca-Cola for 10¢ out of a vending machine that had a little glass door on the left that you would open, reach into and grab a bottle by the neck and pull (of course after dropping your dime into the coin slot).  When I first saw the Bubble Over bundle at OnStage in April it was the first and only bundle that I purchased on my Product Purchase Premium (a pre-order pre-order option for attendees).

I love that Amy Storrie included this bundle as part of her collection of projects at her last group meeting.  And of course her choice of colors makes this project “POP”!  Here is today’s card:

Party Pandas Sale-A-Bration Time

And here we have another project from Amy Storrie’s group meeting that again uses a stamp set that I do not have.  Fortunately for me, just about everything Amy used on this card is available for FREE as part of Sale-A-Bration with every $50.00 purchase (before taxes and shipping) so when I get around to ordering those other items that I now must have I can add these Pandas on for FREE!

These Party Pandas are very popular and if you have been looking at cards on Pinterest or Splitcoast Stampers then you likely have seen your fair share of projects featuring these cuties.  I have to confess that I was not that impressed with the set from seeing prior projects, but Amy’s card uses just the right balance of color, embellishments and bold stamping that makes this a must have set for me.  Without further delay, here is today’s card:

A True Gentleman

Just when I thought I had everything I wanted from the Occasions Catalog, Amy Storrie came up with a project using a suite of products I do not have.  Today’s card uses items from the True Gentleman Suite which I now must have.  At this rate I will own everything in the catalog before the end of May!

This suite of products is the perfect solution if you struggle to create masculine cards for the men in your life.  Here is today’s card to show you exactly what I mean:

I’m not sure what I love the most about this suite, but the wood buttons and corduroy ribbon is right at the top.

Heartfelt Petal Passion

I still have many projects left to share with you from Amy Storrie’s group meetings — about another week’s worth actually!  Each one is my favorite (which means I can’t pick just one) and I hope you are enjoying seeing them as much as I did making them.

Today’s project uses some items from the Petal Passion Suite and the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set that is FREE with any $50 purchase (before shipping and taxes) during Sale-A-Bration (until March 31, 2018).

I used Tuxedo Black Memento ink when stamping my blossom, but if I make this layout again I likely will switch to a lighter color, perhaps Smoky Slate.  To me the flower is just a little too dark; either my ink pad was too wet or I simply over inked the stamp.

Petal Palette Love

Even if you are one of those stampers who has declared “enough with the flower stamp sets already” you will find the Petal Passion Suite irresistible.  When looking at the suite in the Occasions Catalog you may say to yourself “that’s cute but I don’t really need that” — I know, because I did.  But when you see the amazing projects made using these products you will say to yourself “I MUST HAVE EVERYTHING IN THIS SUITE!”  (I just realized I don’t have the embossing folders — oh my, what to do!)

Here is today’s project from Amy Storrie’s group meeting that uses the stamp set and thinlits bundle, embossing folder and DSP from the suite:

The best thing about this suite is that the designer series paper is black and white.  You can simply use it “as is” or add color to it with any number of coloring techniques including Stampin’ Blends, Stampin’ Write Markers, WaterColor Pencils, Classic Inks and Aqua Painters, brayers … or any combination thereof.  Of course I used Stampin’ Blends to color mine!

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that were used in the design of this card which can be added to your shopping cart with a quick click on the thumbnails below:

Here are the dimensions for the paper pieces:

  • The Daffodil Delight cardstock = 4.00″ x 5.25″
  • The Whisper White die cut circle = 3.00″ in diameter
  • The Petal Passion DSP = 4.00″ x 1.50″

If you have any other questions regarding the design elements of this card do not hesitate to contact me.

Picture Perfect Birthday Party Hat

I couldn’t think of a better project to follow up yesterday’s fabulous treat bag than this adorable (and really quick and easy) card from Amy Storrie’s project collection.  If you are a regular follower of my blog then you have probably read how incredibly realistic the imagery appears on the Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper.  Today’s card is further proof of my statement:

Those party hats look like you could just snatch them up and place them on your head!

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that were used in the design of this card which can be added to your shopping cart with a quick click on the thumbnails below:

Here are the dimensions of the paper layers:

  • DSP = 4.00″ x 5.25″
  • Berry Burst = 1.75″ x 4.50″
  • Whisper White = 1.50″ x 4.25″

The party horn is stamped onto a scratch piece of Whisper White and fussy cut with Paper Snips and attached with mini dimensionals.  All other paper pieces are attached using snail.  The piece of sequins is tied inside the single loop knot and attached to the card with mini glue dots.  If you have any other questions regarding the design aspects of this card, do not hesitate to ask.

NEW RECRUITS NEEDED:

I am still in need of at least one person to sign up to become a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator as part of my team so I can advance in title.  Who wants to help me achieve this goal?  My sales total resets in February so January 31 would be my goal!  Thank you in advance for your support!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.  Until next time, stamp on my friends.
