Wondrous Wreath on Hardwood

I did not spend time getting creative today — I spent most of the day with my husband grocery shopping, watching the Cowboys lose and such.  Good news is that I can still share with you one of the make-n-take projects we made at our group meeting on Saturday.

I just got a shipment earlier this week with the Wondrous Wreath bundle (when you buy the stamp set and framelits as a bundle, you save 15% off what you would spend if bought separately) and the Hardwood background stamp and am very impatient to get them all inked up so you should expect to see something I have designed using them real soon.

Here are the products used in the creation of this card:

Thank you again for stopping by my blog.  I hope you leave inspired to but stamps to ink to paper.  Come back soon to see what else I have to share with you.

Until next time, stamp on my friends,

Festival of Trees with a Filigree Frame

I spent some fun time this morning with fellow demonstrators at the home of Amy Storrie.  Amy is always a wonderful hostess and shared with all of us some business tips and then five make-n-take projects, most using products from the 2014 Holiday Catalog.

One of the cards she designed for us to make used the Festival of Trees and Tree Punch which are both sold separately — but also as a bundle, which saves you 15% than if you purchased each product separately!  (And if you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, you would be saving 35% — wink wink).

This card was quick and is cute as a button.

Lovely as a Tree is a Work of Art

Shortly after I returned from Convention in July I shared with you a selection of cards that I received from swapping with other demonstrators who used the Work of Art stamp set.  I also shared some trivia with you about the Lovely As A Tree stamp set — holds the record for the most consecutive years in the Annual Catalog.

As I was churning the creative juices last weekend I thought why not make a card using both of these stamp sets — so I did!  I also managed to work in one of the new stamp sets from the Holiday Catalog.

DSC06808 DSC06810 DSC06811 DSC06812The variations in the ink colors (Old Olive) is due to inking the stamp and stamping it twice — the first stamp is dark and the second stamp is lighter since there is less ink remaining on the stamp.

Below are the products I used in the design of this card, all of which you can link to by clicking on the thumbnail which will take you directly to my demonstrator website where you can place your order 24/7:

Thank you for stopping by my blog (sorry I was away for a few days).  I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.  I will be creating more projects to share with you this weekend so come back and see what I come up with.

Until next time, stamp on my friends,

Linda

Watercolor Winter Sleigh

Stampin’ Up! offers many “kits” — both in their Annual Catalog and the Holiday Catalog — that contain just about everything you need to make cards (or whatever project the kit is geared towards).  Each kit also comes with directions for suggested uses of the contents; but sometimes it is fun to create something original with the kit pieces.

I spent some time this weekend in my craft room (when I was not taking a mini-vacation in Frisco with my husband and our grandson at the Rough Riders baseball game — geez, it was hot!) and created two cards using the Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit that I received at Convention in July.  I was not head over heels in love with this kit (I think it was the water-coloring aspect of it) but I knew it had potential.

Here is the first (and so far my favorite) card I created using parts of the kit along with a few other Stampin’ Up! products.

The card base, sleigh, vellum snowflake and banners are from the kit.  I added some designer series paper matted with Real Red and Whisper White card stock, a vintage button and the silver snowflake embellishment.

Below is a list of all of the Stampin’ Up! products I used in the design of this card:

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.  I hope you will come back again to see what else I have to share with you (oh, I placed my order for new products from the Holiday Catalog which will arrive early this week so I will have lots of new stuff to play with!).  I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.

Until next time, stamp on my friends,

Linda

Bright & Beautiful Star

I am on a roll creating projects with the stamp sets, papers and accessories I was able to pre-order from the 2014 Holiday Catalog — just one of the perks of being an independent demonstrator for Stampin’ Up!  And those demonstrators that attended Convention this year got the chance to put in our pre-orders a week earlier than normal (sweet!).

I took advantage of the early pre-order and came home with a suitcase filled with stamps sets, embellishments and designer series papers.  My suitcase was so heavy that if not for the generosity of the AA person who checked in my suitcase, I would have needed to pay $125 for that suitcase to fly home with me.  Instead it just received a “HEAVY” tag before it went on its merry way through baggage check.

Among the pre-order products there is a stamp set called Bright & Beautiful that coordinates with the Stars Framelits Dies.  I chose this stamp set for my next project, and here it is:

DSC06793 DSC06796 DSC06798

I stamped the star and then cut it out with the framelit die.  I then scored on the backside from point to valley on each star point and folded on the scores to create the puffed star.

Here are the products that I used from the 2014 Holiday Catalog that will be available for purchase starting on August 28th:

Bright & Beautiful # 135029  $24.95 (clear-mount)
Bright & Beautiful # 135026 $32.95 (wood-mount)
All Is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper # 135823 $12.95

And the products that are available now for purchase in the Annual Catalog:

Thank you for stopping by my blog.  I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.  Come back again real soon to see what else I have to share with you.

Until then, stamp on my friends,

A Gift Box for “Under the Tree”

I hope you have had an enjoyable weekend so far.  Mine did not play out quite as I had planned — my nail appointment was cut short due to a family emergency of my manicurist on Saturday and the power went out in the middle of my hair appointment today.  Jeepers!

I did get in some more creative time in my craft room today and put the Christmas Bauble stamp to good use — after all, I had already stamped, colored and fussy cut it out and it deserved to be used in good order.

Since I had struggled yesterday making it into a card, I went in a different direction and created a gift box using the new Gift Box Punch Board that will be available in the 2014 Holiday Catalog that releases on August 28th.

DSC06785 DSC06787 DSC06788

The Gift Box Punch Board is amazing and allows you to make boxes as small as 1.75″ x 1.75″ x 1.75″ (using a 6″ x 6″ piece of paper) to as large as 4″ x 4″ x 4″ (using a 12″ x 12″ piece of paper).  You can use designer series paper or cardstock to create your box, but what is even better is the Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper (also in the 2014 Holiday Catalog) which is cardstock-weight kraft sheets with a color print on one side and white printed patterns on the other.  An unbelievable fact is that absolutely NO adhesive is required to put this box together.

Below is a list of the products I used in my project which will be available on August 28th:

Christmas Bauble Stamp Set # 133824  $10.95 (wood-mount only)
Gift Box Punch Board # 135863  $19.95
Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper # 135825  $12.95
Cherry Cobbler Sheer Linen Ribbon #135839  $7.95

And below are the products that are available now for purchase from the Annual Catalog:

Thank you for stopping by my blog.  As I have said many times before, I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.

Until next time, stamp on my friends,

Linda

Another Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek

Mea Culpa!  It has been several days since my last post and a promise of a card to share with you.  My apologies once again — I must be feeling my age lately, as it seems I have very little energy in the evenings after working all day at my day job to sit down and create and then share with you here on my blog.

I did start a card a few days ago but I never could get it just right.  I then went off on a different tangent and came up with the card I am going to share with you today.

My original card was going to use a new stamp from the Holiday Catalog called Christmas Bauble but then I got an email from YouTube about some new videos being posted on some channels I follow and I got sucked into watching and came across one that Patty Bennett made using the Hardwood background stamp to create a picket fence.  Well I do not (yet) have that stamp, but I do have the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder which I hoped I would be able to use to create the look I wanted.  Success!

DSC06779 DSC06782 DSC06783 DSC06784

I did use a few products from the Holiday Catalog on this project and these will be available for purchase starting on August 28!  They are as follows:

Watercolor Winter Too Stamp Set (Photopolymer) # 136819  $11.95
Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit # 135869  $24.95

And below are the products that are available now in the Annual Catalog:

Okay my husband is sending me text messages from downstairs so I must go for now.  Thank you for stopping by my blog.  I hope you leave inspired to put stamps to ink to paper.

Until next time, stamp on my friends,

Linda

Want to Join the Fun?!?

Header_demobenefits_dbws_2013

Have you ever thought about becoming an Independent Demonstrator for Stampin’ Up!?  If your answer is yes, then you will want to read this blog post!

For one week only — August 21-28 — new demonstrators will receive $150 worth of products in their Starter Kit for just $99!  There’s nothing better than getting extra Starter Kit products for your new business.

Wait, you don’t want to be a “business” demonstrator — you just want the product discount?  No problem!  Demonstrators get a 20% discount on all Stampin’ Up! products, including stamp sets, paper, and accessories.  It’s a great way to support your love of stamping, paper or digital crafting, home décor — or whatever your passion may be!

Whatever approach you wish to take, there are no obligations to make any further purchases once you receive your starter kit products and you will have until January 31, 2015 to figure out if you want to continue being a demonstrator.  If you want to continue to receive the 20% discount on all Stampin’ Up! products you buy, you will need to have minimum monthly sales of $100.00 or $300.00 before the end of the quarter.  It really is that easy!

As a member of my downline, I will help you build your business as large or small as you want.  You could earn extra income based on your sales and recruiting — just how much extra income is entirely up to you.  Maybe you want enough income to pay the electric bill every month, or maybe your goal is bigger — perhaps the monthly payment for your new car.  That’s the beauty of the demonstrator experience — it’s all up to you!  (See the Compensation Table for more information.)  You can also earn free products and incentive trips, all while building strong relationships with others!

If this sounds like something that you would like to try, contact me for more information or simply click on the “Join the Fun” menu at the top of my blog in the black bar area.

That is all the time I have this evening and I apologize for not sharing any cards with you today.  I will endeavor to do better so come back again real soon.

Until next time, stamp on my friends,

Linda
