Birthday Fancy Kit by Stampin’ Up!

Greetings my stamping friends. Today I am sharing with you the Birthday Fancy Kit which was released by Stampin’ Up! earlier this month. You may recall when I posted about the release of this new kit, that I couldn’t wait to get one for myself. I finally set aside time to remove the shrink wrap and play today and oh what fun it was!

Most kits I have purchased provide supplies for multiple cards of the same design, and will offer you three or so different designs. I was thrilled to discover that this particular kit provides supplies to create 12 unique card designs. You could also elect to create two cards of a particular design (I think there were at least two of each element).

The instructions that come with the kit provide step by step directions on creating three different card designs. There is a photo of sample cards on the online store of an additional nine card designs you can follow, which is what I did with my kit. When all card bases were used, I still had some left over card elements.

Quick Elegant Cards with Painterly Pears DSP

Greetings my stamping friends! I have some gorgeous quick and elegant cards to share with you today using one piece of designer series paper (“DSP”) from the new July Online Exclusive offering called Painterly Pears. This package of 12″ x 12″ DSP is part of the Suite Collection by the same name which includes a stamp set, dies, ribbon and embellishments.

I was inspired, once again, by Rachel Tessman with Stamp Your Art Out for the general design and layout, but I changed up the color of my card base and embellishments used.

For starters, again these cards use ONE sheet of the DSP with a design around the edges of the paper which is shown below:

To get the most out of this piece of DSP, you will first want to cut it down to three 4″ x 12″ pieces as shown below:

Next you will take each 4″ piece and using the end piece with the design as your starting point, cut those down to 5.25″ so that you have six pieces of 4″ x 5.25″ pieces of DSP as shown below:

I am not going to be using the three small scraps of DSP in the middle section so what you will be working with is shown below:

You will then want to select your preferred color for your cardstock base. Here I chose Darling Duckling. (Rachel used Secret Sea for her card bases.)

(Did you know that each package of DSP provides on the back white chipboard the names of the coordinating colors? This will be very helpful in deciding which color(s) you want to incorporate into your projects!)

Instead of stamping greetings on the fronts of the cards, I elected to go the same route as Rachel did to keep it “quick and easy” and used the Greetings for All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack (English). This pack offers greetings for any occasion in black and white graphics.

As a final touch, I colored all of the pink blossoms with clear Wink of Stella. You may not be able to see the shimmer in the photos but trust me it is stunning!

Back to School Sales Tax Holiday

Greetings my stamping friends. I know it seems like Summer has just begun, but I heard it on the Stampin’ Up! grapevine that the 2025 back-to-school sales tax holiday season begins this weekend.

Thirteen states and Puerto Rico are offering a sales tax holiday for school supplies during the months of July and August. Products that are eligible according to the statute include “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes.” To make shopping and saving money on the qualifying Stampin’ Up! products easier, Stampin’ Up! created a chart of the participating states, products exempted from tax, limits and sales tax holiday dates which you can find on the PDF below:

Please note that you must place your order with Stampin’ Up! during the tax holiday period of the state you live in to receive these items tax-free (which is midnight on the first day to midnight on the last day of the tax holiday). Online Store for Retired Products

Greetings my stamping friends. I have been weighing my options on creating an online store option for listing my retired Stampin’ Up! products on my blog. I am not sure if this will be the best or easiest option, but I have selected “WP EasyCart” which is designed for WordPress and have begun listing a few items (dies without coordinating stamp sets).

Since I want to offer the best rate for shipping, I have not activated LIVE rates to USPS. I have, for now, coded each item for a flat $5.00 shipping fee. All items will ship in a padded envelope and I would like to offer combined shipping. So, if you wish to purchase multiple items, it might be best to let me know the items you want, and I can manually send you an invoice through PayPal with an exact cost for shipping. I ship through PayPal which offers the same discounted rates as Pirate Ship.

Just a Note with Notes & Totes

Greetings my stamping friends! I have been wanting to play with a new bundle from the 2025-2026 Annual Catalog for a while now and I finally was able to get myself organized enough to actually make a card.

I have had the Notes & Totes Bundle for a few weeks now and have seen so many cute projects created by other demonstrators. I pulled it out last night and I could not reason out how to use the dies (I think I was just really tired, actually) so I looked for something to help guide me on YouTube and I found a video by a fellow demonstrator in Minnesota, Rachel Tessman. Here is the card she made that I used as inspiration for my project (note that my photo is taken of her card as displayed on my laptop screen so it is a little on the blurry side).

Sadly I did not have the Extraordinary Floral Washi Tape (due to be back in stock on July 21), so I changed the theme of my card but used her layout. Here is my card.

I took a second photo with the flash on so that you could see the Wink of Stella glitter on the star fish and nautilus shells.

I simply applied Crumb Cake, Lost Lagoon and Darling Duckling ink to a piece of Basic White cardstock that was 4.25″ x 5.50″ to create the beach, ocean and sunny sky using Blending Brushes. I stamped in Crumb Cake the little pebbles from the stamp set in the sandy area to give it some dimension. When I was finished with blending the ink, I cut 1/8″ off of all four sides so that the finished piece is 4.00″ x 5.25″ (this removes the dark edges from the blending brush hitting the edge of the cardstock).

Goodbye to Paper Snips Scissors (for now)

I have some sad news. The manufacturer of Stampin’ Up!’s Paper Snips Scissors (103579) is no longer making this product, which means we’re limited to the supply we currently have on hand. Once existing inventory runs out in each market, the item will be removed from the online store.

Unfortunately, the inventory for the North America market, which includes the United States, has sold out.

Stampin’ Up! is currently exploring alternative manufacturing options and hope to bring this or a similar product back in the future. 

If you are lucky enough to already have a pair (or 10) of Paper Snips, then you know how incredible they are and how truly sad this situation truly is. Personally, I think I have four pair, but not all of them still have the blade cover. I will never part with mine.

Sweeter With You Paper Pumpkin Kit, July 2025

Greetings my stamping friends. I hope that all of my followers who reside in Texas, or who may have been visiting over the July 4th weekend, are safe. I am fortunate to have not been personally affected by the flash floods so far as all family living in the area are okay.

Greetings my stamping friends. I can’t believe that it is July already! I need time to slow down just a little bit so I can spend more of it in my craft room making projects to share with you all.
