Share What You Love – Make a Difference

I have been wanting to make a Mother’s Day card using the products from the Share What You Love Suite but was hesitant to do so because there was not a stamp with that sentiment.  But then again Stampin’ Up! did include a second stamp set in two of the bundles that allows me to stamp any word I need (with a little practice that is).  So with the magic of paper, ink and scissors I created a Mother’s Day card:

I am still searching for my wow factor.  If only I was able to climb the stairs and sit in my craft room with all of my tools for inspiration!  I have an appointment with my orthopedic surgeon on Tuesday so fingers crossed I get the all clear and a walking boot!

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that were used in the design of this card that are NOT part of the Share What You Love bundles:

And here are links to the bundles which are available through May 31, 2018:

It’s a Beautiful Day in Rich Razzleberry

Guess what Stampin’ Up! products I used for today’s card project?  The Share What You Love Suite of course!  I have seen so many samples of cards made using these products I do not know if this layout was inspired by someone else’s card or not, but if so thanks to whoever you are.

I’m still trying to find that perfect combination of paper, ink, embellishments and layout to knock my socks off so I will be playing with these products a little while longer.

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of this card that are not part of the three bundles:

More to Share What You Love

I can’t stop creating cards with the Share What You Love Suite!  I finally finished the Make & Take from #OnStage2018 in Fort Worth in April after I was able to sweet talk my husband to bring me some more stamp pad colors down from my craft room.

I made a few modifications – I didn’t have my Mint Macaron pad handy so I used VersaMark for the background stamping; I didn’t have a ticket corner punch and didn’t like them rounded so I fussy cut the greeting; and I added a metal rose beneath the doily.

Here is picture of the packet showing what the finished project should look like.

After completing this project I thought I would try and tackle one of the project samples that Stampin’ Up! made and uses on their promotional materials.  Perhaps you’ve seen it … this one.

I nearly drove myself insane trying to duplicate this layout.  After about six attempts I finally got close enough to say mission accomplished.  What do you think?

I tried all kinds of tricks to get the flowers to lay on the card front like the sample but nothing I did seemed to work.  I nearly settled for this version after working on it for hours and hours yesterday.

Since I was having such a hard time with the placement of the flowers when stamping directly on the card base, I stamped the flowers separately on cardstock and then fussy cut them and then glued them onto the card base.  This was too symmetrical for my eye.

How did I finally figure it out?  I looked at the project sample on a larger screen and could see where the petal sections of the flowers met up when the flower was re-stamped!

If you don’t have your own collection of these products you are missing a lot of fun!  You can add them to your shopping cart by clicking on the links below:

Love What You Do

Just Getting Started Bundle

A Little More, Please Bundle

Gotta Have It All Bundle

The Share What You Love Suite early release for customers is in full swing and the projects I have seen on social media are simply amazing!  I am very limited as to what I have access to since I am still restricted to the downstairs of my home and cannot access my stash of tools and inks (and my husband is losing patience with me trying to explain to him what it is I am needing) so I feel a little handicapped on being able to wow you all with my projects.

Thankfully the designer series paper in this suite is so beautiful all on its own – you must see it in person to appreciate the pearl finish on the flowers and leaves. You can also check my social media where I put pictures and videos of my work. If you are also trying to boost your account the Social Boosting platform will help you improve the views of your content.

Here is my card:

For the card base I used a Whisper White Note Card which is slightly longer than a standard card (6.25 x 4.25 when scored).

A Beautiful Birthday in Stained Glass

With the arrival of the Stampin’ Blends to Stampin’ Up!’s arsenal of coloring tools, the “stained glass” look or technique has become very popular.  If you like this technique, but do not like heat embossing your images on vellum, then you will be over the moon with glee when you see the new product suite in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog called Graceful Glass (pp. 164-165).  This suite includes a stamp set and coordinating Thinlits dies, buttons, black cord and 6×6 designer vellum with images ready for coloring to be added to your project.

Here is a card that I made today using products from this suite:

The stained glass window image was printed two to a sheet on the 6×6 vellum and I cut it in half and then resized the height of the image to fit onto my card front.  I colored the vellum with my Blends and attached it to a piece of Whisper White cardstock before attaching to the card front with dimensionals.

Happy Mail of Well Wishes

T0day was my first full day home after being in hospital for eight days receiving IV antibiotics nearly 24/7 and having two additional surgeries on my ankle.  My picc line and I have become well acquainted as I am now self-administering IV antibiotics from the luxury of my home.  Not as bad as it may sound since no actual needles are involved.

My day was brightened when my husband gave me a piece of “happy mail” that arrived today.  It was a handmade card from one of my stamping sisters who lives in Ropesville, TX – Cheryl Holtman.  I absolutely love it and appreciate that she took the time to send me a card wishing me a quick recovery!

#OnStage2018 Swaps Share

I am posting from my hospital room – my home away from home for the last six days. During my stay I have been receiving saline and three different antibiotics through an IV (a picc line was inserted either last Thursday or Friday because my veins were becoming hard to find for the daily blood draws).

I have had two surgeries so far – one on Saturday to clean and manually debride the wound that won’t heal, the other on Sunday by a plastic surgeon who attached a medical product called Integra Dermal Regeneration over the open wound. Waiting on cultures to come back before I am released to go home with my IV pump.

I had promised I would share with you cards I received from our group swap. I didn’t expect to still be in hospital so I am going to blast you with the all at once!

I hope you have enjoyed viewing these lovely cards. I am fortunate to be part of a very talented team of demonstrators!

I’m going to try to call it a day and get at least a few hours of sleep before the nurses and techs come in to check to see if I need anything my vitals, etc.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper. Until next time, stamp on my friends!

Right Ankle Set Back

Just when I was getting into a somewhat regular routine in my little space I can maneuver in the downstairs of my home I am thrown a curve ball and end up back in the hospital. Unfortunately one of the surgical wounds on my ankle is not healing and is inflamed. Doctors prescribed IV antibiotics and intense wound care.

So my return to crafting fun will be delayed a little longer.

I do have some swaps from #OnStage2018 that I can share with you so keep an eye out for those posts in the next few days. For now I will sit here and “lick my wounds” metaphorically.

Until next time, stamp on my friends.
