A Memorable Timeless Tropical Birthday

Greetings my stamping friends! I hope you are all doing well and making the best of your shelter in place situation. If my dogs didn’t whine so much when I lock them out of my crafting space, I would be making cards all day. For now, I have to wait for them to go to bed with my husband.

I do have a new project to share with you today using some products from the Timeless Tropical suite. This layout and design is fairly simple and would be a quick card when you needed that card yesterday.

You will need some sort of die cutting/embossing machine to use some of the products I included in this card. Stampin’ Up! is still in the process of designing a new tool, but for now if you have a Big Shot or similar machine, that will work (you may need to add a shim, depending on what you have as a base plate).

Some quick tips on this card: (1) the Crumb Cake layer is attached to the Thick Whisper White card base with dimensionals; (2) the Old Olive and DSP piece are adhered together with Snail; and (3) the layered pieces from (2) are attached to Crumb Cake with Snail.

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of this card with those super convenient hyperlinks that allow you to add these items to your shopping cart:

Product List

If you have any questions regarding any other design elements of this card, please just ask.

Well, now that Sale-A-Bration has ended (and I sure hope you all took advantage of the FREE products, even if not purchased through me), what could Stampin’ Up! possibly do next? How about an early release of a product suite from the new catalog that will go live in June 2020?

INTRODUCING THE ORNATE GARDEN SUITE

Starting today, April 1 (no joke), you can order any of the products from this new suite. This new suite is vintage and floral, with a cheerful Spring theme, magnified by the variety and scope of the beautiful, coordinating products. I can say that the dies are incredible and are on my must have list.

Here for your shopping convenience are all of the possible options to purchase items from this new suite along with hyperlinks to add them to your shopping cart:

If you aren’t convinced just yet that this new suite is a must have, check out this video from Stampin’ Up!:

Just wow, right!

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper. Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Timeless Tulips for Easter

Greetings my stamping friends. First, I apologize for not posting yesterday. I got so busy listing retired products for sale in a FB buy/sell group, I lost track of time. I did have the project I am sharing with you today completed, but not photographed and watermarked for posting.

Today’s project uses a stamp set and punch bundle from the Mini Catalog – Timeless Tulips. There are a handful of greetings of various themes, but for this card I selected the Easter greeting since Easter is really just around the corner.

The tip for using this stamp set is to stamp your stems first. Otherwise, you will be frustrated with trying to match the ends of the stems to the flower base and will have over-stamping issues (ask me how I know). Next tip would be to stamp your leaves after you stamp the tulip buds.

Here are the Stampin’ Up! supplies that I used in the design of this card along with hyperlinks to add these items to your shopping cart:

If you have any questions regarding any of the design elements of this card, do not hesitate to ask.

Timeless Tropical at the Beach

Greetings my stamping friends. I hope that you had the opportunity this past week or over the weekend to get crafty. If you did, I would love to see what you made. Feel free to leave a picture in the comments to this post.

Today’s project that I am sharing with you was designed by me a few months ago for a Stamped with Joy group meeting at Amy Storrie’s house. It seems like it has been six months ago, but in truth it was perhaps three months ago. I was asked to do a demonstration and this was my project.

I prepared a very detailed “card recipe” for this project in PDF format which you can download HERE.

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that were used in the design of this card with the hyperlinks to quickly add them to your shopping cart:

Product List

I also used an Old Olive and Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Markers (not sold separately) for coloring the Palm Trees stamp.

Admittedly this card looks very time consuming. You can omit the sponging of the beach, water and horizon, and use “paper piecing” (pieces of similarly colored cardstock) to create a similar look. I reused my templates I made for sponging over and over without any trouble.

If you have any questions regarding the design elements of this card, please ask me. If you have difficulty downloading the instructions I provided above, please alert me so I can trouble shoot (it works when I try it).

As a reminder, Sale-A-Bration ends on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. If you plan to order any of the products I used on this project, be sure to do so ASAP so you can take advantage of the FREE products you can earn. As always, if you need help placing your order, please call or email me.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper. Until next time, stamp on my friends.

No Matter the Weather by Paper Pumpkin

Greetings my stamping friends. I hope you are all doing well and practicing social distancing. As I saw on Facebook today, “If you can smell their farts, move further apart”. (For some reason I find that very humorous.)

For today’s project, I am going to share with you my slightly modified cards from the March 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit – No Matter the Weather.

Wait a minute, they look just like the samples in the instructions. Not quite – look a little closer and you will see that I cut the card base in half (cut off the back piece) and add a Smoky Slate mat that I then attached to a standard size card base of Thick Whisper White cardstock. Why, because their original size is “note cards” size (3.50” x 5.00”). As modified, my cards are now standard A2 (4.25” x 5.50”). I will then need to substitute envelopes, but that means I have the pretty liners from the envelopes provided in the kit to use as background paper on other cards!

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used to modify my cards which can be added to your shopping cart by clicking on the images:

Product List

Here again is the video provided by Stampin’ Up! that shows how to assemble the kit:

If you are not a current Paper Pumpkin subscriber now is the perfect time to join. Deadline each month to subscribe to receive that month’s kit is the 10th — so the deadline to subscribe to receive the April kit is April 10, 2020. Everything you need to create the projects will be included in the box that will arrive in your mailbox.

If you have any questions about subscribing to Paper Pumpkin or need help setting up your account, I am here to help. For your convenience, here is my link to subscribe: SUBSCRIBE TO PAPER PUMPKIN

A Country Club Timeless Tropical

Greetings my stamping friends. I slept the most of the day today which is typical following my infusions. Fortunately I had designed and finished today’s project last night so I am able to continue my #acardaday promise to you.

Today’s project is a bit different in that the Country Club Designer Series Paper creates the focal image. The only “stamping” done on this project is the sentiment which comes from the Timeless Tropical stamp set. Both of these produced are available in the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog.

Included in the Country Club Designer Series Paper package are 12 sheets of paper (2 each of 6 double sided designs). One of the designs contains 12 black and white scenes, which if you look closely are mirror images of three scenes (see pic immediately above this block). They can be cut out quickly and easily with your paper trimmer to create 12 scenes that each measure 3.00″ x 4.00″.

I colored my selected scene with my go to inks — my Stampin’ Blends®. To give the layout some detail without fussy embellishments I cut out my layers for the card front using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies (to create each layer I used the four largest dies). The matted layer with my colored scene is attached with dimensionals. The sentiment was also cut using second smallest die from the same dies. I used a wood element from the Country Club Elements under the sentiment.

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of this card with those very helpful hyperlinks to add to your shopping cart:

Product List

If you have any questions regarding any of the design elements of this card, do not hesitate to ask me.

And don’t forget there are just THREE more days remaining in Sale-A-Bration. If you buy the Thick Whisper White Cardstock, the Country Club DSP, Country Club Elements, Timeless Tropical stamp set (or a similarly priced set of your choice) and a package of dimensionals (total = $52.75 before tax and shipping) you would qualify for a FREE Level 1 item.

If you have any questions regarding placing an online order or redeeming Sale-A-Bration items, please call or email me. I would be happy to help you.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper. Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Happy Birthday to You courtesy of Sale-A-Bration

Greetings my stamping friends. I left my house for the first time in about 10 days to receive my Gamma Globulin infusion (human blood proteins so my immune system can generate antibodies) for my auto-immune disease. As an “at risk” person, it was a bit frightening, but I was relieved to see that there was a nurse in the entrance to the infusion center who was checking people’s temperature and checking names off a list to protect everyone. I typically feel very tired for several days after, but I still plan on sharing projects with you daily.

#acardaday #makeacardsendacard

Today’s project (which I actually made last night) uses my second favorite stamp set offered as a FREE item during Sale-A-Bration (Level 1) — Happy Birthday to You. I opted to try to do a “simple stamping” project which should be quick and easy if you want to try to make one for yourself.

I stamped the cake image on a piece of whisper white cardstock that measures 3.25″ x 4.00″ in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the stamped image with my very handy Stampin’ Blends® (Petal Pink on the frosting, Flirty Flamingo on the flowers, Granny Apple Green on the leaves, Daffodil Delight on the flower stamens and Smoky Slate on the cake stand. I also added Wink of Stella to the cake stand to give it some shimmer. Lastly, I stamped the Happy Birthday greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I attached the stamped piece to the card base using dimensionals. (NOTE: I used the RETIRED Share What You Love Artisan Pearls to add some glitz. If you do not have these in your stash of crafting supplies, you can color the Basic Pearls [#144219 $5.00] with any of your Stampin’ Blends®.)

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of this card which have those handy hyperlinks so you can quickly and easily add them to your shopping cart.

Sending You Thoughts & a Lovely Lily Pad

Greetings my stamping friends. I hope you are all sheltering safely in place. To those of you who fall into the essential services category and are on the front lines so to speak, thank you for all that you do for the rest of us.

The project I am sharing with you today uses three products currently available as FREE items during Sale-A-Bration — two stamp sets (Level 1) and a coordinating set of dies (Level 2) — as well as one item that is no longer available as inventory has been depleted (baker’s twine and sequins). It is a very appropriate card for the times we are facing.

#acardaday #makeacardsendacard

I created the water background using the double sided stamp from the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set (hint: all stamps in this set are double sided!) and the Balmy Blue ink pad. I stamped off for the solid side of the stamp (after inking the stamp I tapped on a scrap sheet of paper before stamping on card piece) to get a lighter shade of blue. The lily flower and pad were colored with Stampin’ Blends®. On the inside of the card I stamped “you’d be better already” from Sending You Thoughts.

Here is a list of the Stampin’ Up! products that you will need if you would like to make this or a similar card:

If you have any questions regarding any of the design elements of this card, you can just ask.

As a reminder, Sale-A-Bration ENDS on March 31, 2020. So be sure to get your FREE items while they are still available!

The Gang’s all Meer

Greetings my stamping friends. It has been far too long since I last posted a project to share with you. My sincerest apologies. For those of you who have not given up hope on me, I thank you.

The current world wide crisis is very frightening. I hope that each and every one of you – known and unknown to me personally – remain safe and healthy in the days, weeks and months to come.

I have been in a funk for many months even before this virus made itself known and I am going to try to brighten my days, and in return hopefully yours, by sharing a new project with you every day going forward. I will use the hastags #acardaday and #makeacardsendacard if you wish to follow me on social media.

As I notified you in an earlier post today, Sale-A-Bration will end on March 31, 2020. This means you have seven days remaining to take advantage of the FREE products you can earn with each $50 (Level 1) or $100 (Level 2) purchase you make. There are no limits on the number of FREE products you can redeem; however, they are available only while supplies last!

For today’s project I used my favorite Sale-A-Bration stamp set (FREE with a $50 order before taxes and shipping) — The Gang’s All Meer. This was my first redemption during demonstrator pre-order back in November (oh my!) and this is the first time I have used it.

Yes those are meercats! Aren’t they adorable!

I created the large “gang” of meercats with the “masking technique” where you stamp on a scrap sheet or post-it note to cover an area previously stamped to protect it. I had a much larger group but elected to cut it down by hand which I attached to the card front with dimensionals.

Using a 4.00″ x 5.25″ piece of whisper white card stock, I stamped a staggered row of cacti so that I had a defined area to create the sandy ground. All stamped images, as well as the background, were colored using my Stampin’ Blends®. You can’t see in the photo, but I added Wink of Stella to the poppies on the cacti.

Here is a list of the supplies you will need to create this card (or something similar):
