2020-2021 Annual Catalog Debuts Today – Oh Yay!

Greetings my stamping friends. I’m taking just a few minutes to send you a quick post before I head off to bed. I’m still fighting migraines which basically are just not any fun.

Today, Wednesday, June 3rd, is the day Stampin’ Up! fans have been waiting for — the new Annual Catalog goes live to the public! If you are up right now, you will find that the online ordering system is down for maintenance. This is so they can update the system with all of the new product information and remove all the old. Just be patient, the system should be up soon.

There are some items listed in the Annual Catalog that are not yet ready to be ordered. This includes the new Stampin’ Emboss & Cut die machine and all of its plates and other parts.

Also, there is a restriction of ONE per order of the refills for the new In Color refill inks.

Otherwise, things should be smooth out of the starting gate.

Here is a eye popping “commercial” from Stampin’ Up! to tease you about some of the product suites if you have not yet seen a copy of the Annual Catalog:

I mean, it’s like they just jump out of the pages of the catalog, right!?! (lol)

I have also pinned a PDF link to the catalog in the upper right margin of my blog.

I apologize for not posting any projects lately (see migraine comment, above). However, I did do an impromptu Facebook Live of my preorder reveal on Saturday, I think it was, so click on my Facebook link in my menu at the top and check it out for a giggle. I lost my signal so it’s in two parts.

That’s about all I can manage for now. I hope to be up to more tomorrow.

Thank you for stopping by. Until next time, stamp on my friends.

A Beautiful You Graduation

Greetings my stamping friends. I hope you are all doing well and remain safe and healthy as you gathered with your family to honor America’s heroes on Memorial Day.

I apologize for my extended absence. I have been so very tired these past few days. I actually went to bed Saturday night around midnight and woke up Sunday afternoon about 3:00 pm when my husband took my wrist to check for a pulse. I had to chuckle when he did that.

I have had a project to share with you since Thursday. It is the card I made for my youngest niece who graduated from Denton Ryan High School this week using retiring stamp sets – Beautiful You & Beautiful Bouquet.

I stamped the lady twice – once on whisper white and again on a piece of DSP. I cut out the dress from the DSP and overlaid it on the image stamped onto the whisper white and adhered with multipurpose glue. I cut a 1.00” square piece of real red cardstock to create the cap and adhered it over the hat (you may want to make it slightly bigger because it barely covers the hat). I cut small pieces os white bakers twine and adhered with multipurpose glue and then added a large basic pearl. The arms and legs are colored with my Ivory Stampin’ Blends marker and the shadow is colored with my Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Marker.

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of this card with the hyperlinks for ease of shopping:

A Kit in Color – May 2020 Paper Pumpkin

Greetings my stamping friends. I hope you all are doing well.

I have been feeling a bit under the weather the last few days and not “feeling” the craftiness to create anything new to share with you all. Thankfully, my May 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit arrived in the mail today!

The May 2020 Kit introduces one of the new 2020-2022 In Colors – Misty Moonlight. I pretty much followed the predesigned layouts of the cards, with a few minor modifications. I made the smallest card into a regular sized card by cutting the card base in half and attaching it to a piece of thick Whisper White cardstock and on the clouds card I put both of the smaller clouds on dimensionals as that looked better to my eyes. Let me know what you think.

Oh and I may have relocated the placement of the bows on one of the layouts.

Here is the instructional video from Stampin’ Up! for your viewing pleasure:

This kit made a total of 12 cards and was a lot of fun to put together. This is the kit that sold out before the end of the subscription period. If you want to be sure you receive each month’s kit, be sure that you become a monthly subscriber. HERE is my personal link. DEADLINE to subscribe to receive the June kit is June 10, 2020.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper. Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Crafting Forever – Friends

Greetings my stamping friends. I took a break yesterday from all things crafty to help a neighbor with an Adobe Acrobat project. My brain was fried after converting a paper order form with 24 rows into a fillable electronic form. I hope you all remain happy, healthy and safe.

Today’s project share continues my mission of sharing retiring products with you. I chose the Crafting Forever stamp set which I anticipate will remain in my collection for a long time. Let me know what you think.

I stamped the pot of brushes onto a piece of 4.00″ x 5.25″ piece of Whisper White cardstock and colored the image with a my Stampin’ Blends. I stamped the sentiment, the pair of scissors and the wood stamp onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, and, with the exception of the sentiment, I colored them with my Blends and then fussy cut them out. I cut the sentiment into three small pieces and all of the pieces are attached to the top piece of Whisper White cardstock with dimensionals. I matted the stamped piece with a slightly 1/8″ longer and wider piece of Basic Black cardstock and attached to the card base with dimensionals.

Just Breathe. Colorful Seasons

Greetings my stamping friends! I hope you all remain healthy, happy and safe.

Today was the final day of OnTour Online. This virtual event was offered to all of the countries in which Stampin’ Up! is available, and it was reported that over 13,000 demonstrators took part. This was amazing and was just what I needed during these crazy times. I will share some ideas with you soon once I get them organized. So look for my updates.

My project share for today continues my mission to use retired Stampin’ Up! stamp sets and other products before they are shelved on June 2. I am using one of my favorite stamp sets — Colorful Seasons — and my project was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest created by Cincraft Designs. Mine is not as pretty as the original, but it’ll do. Let me know what you think:

I used a clear block and ink refills to create the seaside image. Just a dot of each color moved around with an Aqua Painter created the background. I stamped onto watercolor paper that I had also spritzed with water. The strips of Crumb Cake, Pacific Point and Balmy Blue cardstock each measures 1.00″ x 4.25″ and are attached to card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The stamped piece is attached to card front with dimensionals (lots of dimensionals!).

Broadway Birthday In Color

Greetings my stamping friends. I hope you all remain healthy and happy.

Today’s OnTour Online events were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I can’t wait to share with you some of the new products that are being introduced in the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. Oh, by the way, I haven’t mentioned this to you yet, but a new die cutting machine is being offered in the new catalog. It will not be available on June 3 for purchase, but will be available not too long thereafter. It is called the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and there are TWO different size options. I can’t show you any pictures yet, but if you have ordered from me, you should be receiving your complementary copy of the Annual Catalog in the mail very soon. Be sure to check out p. 170!

Today’s project share carries on with my mission to use retiring stamp sets and other products. I am using the Broadway Birthday stamp set and all of the 2018-2020 In Color stamp pads. It took me three attempts to get the ballons arranged in a manner that I liked, but likely should have given it a fourth try as I am still not 100% satisfied. Let me know what you think.

This was intended to be a #simplestamping project (stamps, ink, paper), but after fiddling with the balloons I’m not sure it qualifies. There’s really nothing special about the layout or design of this card, but I started by stamping the “Hooray” sentiment and then built the balloons from there, moving up the paper. I masked off the balloons where the stamped string would over stamp and for those strings that weren’t long enough to reach the sentiment, I used a ruler and my Blueberry Bushel Stampin’ Write Marker to make them longer.

It Starts with Art & Broadway Lights

Greetings my stamping friends. I hope you are all doing well and are safe and healthy.

Today’s events were a bit chaotic, but technology during the “pandemic age” is something you either love or hate. We had our first day of OnTour Online today and technology was not cooperating with those who needed to make presentations. I enjoyed it anyways!

Today’s project share continues my mission of using retiring stamp sets and other products. I mixed products from different product suites — which just goes to prove Stampin’ Up!’s products coordinate very well with each other. My card uses the It Starts With Art stamp set and coordinating designer series paper and elements kit, with the Broadway Lights dies which actually cut out images from the Broadway Birthday stamp set. I was quite pleased with how today’s card turned out. Let me know what you think:

First, my apologies for the cat hair in the photos. I had a hard time uploading these photos to WordPress, otherwise I would retake photos and replace them. My pets don’t stamp with me, but they do seem to become part of my art now and then!

I started with a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock as my card base. I stamped randomly, in the same color ink, two of the images from the stamp set. For the ribbon spools that form a heart when unspooled, I colored the ribbon with Wink of Stella to add some shimmer. I used the marquee sign die from the die set to cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock and a piece of the DSP. I adhered the Whisper White frame of the sign to the matching piece of DSP to make it more sturdy and stamped my sentiment in Pacific Point ink, and then the buttons randomly in Blushing Bride ink of the piece of Whisper White marquee center piece. The rhinestones were placed over the holes that are cut into the sign frame and are the largest size offered in the package. Both pieces are attached to the card front with dimensionals. The arrows and the baker’s twine are from the coordinating elements kit.

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that were used in the design of the card with the hyperlinks to make adding them to your shopping cart quick and easy:

A Crackle Paint & Beautiful Bouquet Anniversary

Greetings my stamping friends. Sunday was a near perfect day in my tiny part of the world. I was spoiled by my husband for our 6th Wedding Anniversary and he had Mother’s Day treats for me from our fur babies, along with a card. We also made a trip out to see my Mom in Denton. I managed to have the courage to stay for a while and helped her with her technical issues on her laptop. I wore my mask the whole time and I did end our visit with a hug. I am so fortunate to still have my Mom in my life. I hope you all had a great day as well.

I am continuing my sharing of retiring stamp sets with you today. For this project I chose Beautiful Bouquet & Crackle Paint. This is actually the card I made for my husband for our Anniversary. I struggle with masculine cards and not sure I was successful in making this one manly. Let me know what you think.

The design is supposed to represent a picket fence with crackled paint. The silver metallic pearls are supposed to represent nails. I think the pearls took away the masculinity of the card and I should have just added black dots with a marker!

I stamped my piece of Very Vanilla that I used to create the pickets twice with the Crackle Paint stamp to make the crackling more concentrated. My original piece of Very Vanilla was approximately 4.00″ x 5.25″ when stamped. I then cut the stamped piece into .50″ x 5.25″ strips. I rounded off the top of the pickets with the Story Label Punch. To get precise sizes, I set the punch on its edge on my table and inserted just the one end of the strip into the smallest curved section (the ends of the label). (See photo below.) I sponged around all four sides of the strips to add some depth to the pickets. I created the grass with the Lakeside Dies and a strip of Garden Green cardstock. I used the full size on the back row of clumps of grass and cut them down for the lower, front row of clumps. Everything except for the sentiment are attached flat to the card. I attached the sentiment with dimensionals.

P.S. Tomorrow I will be participating in OnTour online where I will receive additional training and information about upcoming products. This replaces what would have been onsite events around the world and is scheduled through Wednesday. Look for exciting news soon!

Beautiful Promenade for a Friend

Greetings my stamping friends. What a lovely day it was on Saturday. I “supervised” my husband as he replaced the ceiling fan on our patio. Now we can enjoy more time outside with the breeze it will provide in the hot days ahead. I hope you are all doing well and are staying safe and healthy.

Continuing on with my mission to use my retiring stamp sets, today’s project share features a versatile (but barely used by me) stamp set — Beautiful Promenade. This stamp set also has a set of coordinating dies, Beautiful Layers; however, I did not use the dies on my project. Here is today’s card:

While this card may look difficult (or time consuming), it really isn’t. The Beautiful Promenade stamp set is a two-step set, which means there are two different stamps to create the flower. One stamps the outline of the flower, and the other stamps the striped inside of the flower. Neither stamp fully colors in the flower, so I used a coordinating Stampin’ Blends to color in the flowers and the leaves. To get the black flower stamens, I used my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and just inked the stamens on the outline stamp after I had colored with the Blends. For the tag sentiment, I punched out two of the tags in Basic Black and offset them on the top and bottom so they peek out.
