Love & Sympathy Summer Silhouettes

It’s always a sad day when you learn that someone you know has suffered the loss of a parent. When clients or friends of the attorneys I work with experience such a loss, I provide the sympathy cards (handmade, of course).

I had a late day at the office today and didn’t really have a lot of time to sit down and create a sympathy card from scratch so I sifted through a huge box of swap cards from various Stampin’ Up! events (Convention, Regionals) and found a card front that I felt was perfect for transforming into such a card.

This card was designed by Susan Rodgers (from somewhere in Oregon). When Susan designed this card she didn’t include a sentiment on the front.

I knew I wanted to use the Love & Sympathy stamp set so I quickly inked up the sentiment, stamped on card stock, did a quick punch, sponged the edges and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Super easy (thanks Susan for doing all the hard work and providing me such a beautiful layout)!

I hope this card brings a little ray of sunshine into Buck’s day when he gets this card in the mail.

Here are the supplies used to create this card (all items are available in the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog unless otherwise noted):
