A Crackle Paint & Beautiful Bouquet Anniversary

Greetings my stamping friends. Sunday was a near perfect day in my tiny part of the world. I was spoiled by my husband for our 6th Wedding Anniversary and he had Mother’s Day treats for me from our fur babies, along with a card. We also made a trip out to see my Mom in Denton. I managed to have the courage to stay for a while and helped her with her technical issues on her laptop. I wore my mask the whole time and I did end our visit with a hug. I am so fortunate to still have my Mom in my life. I hope you all had a great day as well.

I am continuing my sharing of retiring stamp sets with you today. For this project I chose Beautiful Bouquet & Crackle Paint. This is actually the card I made for my husband for our Anniversary. I struggle with masculine cards and not sure I was successful in making this one manly. Let me know what you think.

The design is supposed to represent a picket fence with crackled paint. The silver metallic pearls are supposed to represent nails. I think the pearls took away the masculinity of the card and I should have just added black dots with a marker!

I stamped my piece of Very Vanilla that I used to create the pickets twice with the Crackle Paint stamp to make the crackling more concentrated. My original piece of Very Vanilla was approximately 4.00″ x 5.25″ when stamped. I then cut the stamped piece into .50″ x 5.25″ strips. I rounded off the top of the pickets with the Story Label Punch. To get precise sizes, I set the punch on its edge on my table and inserted just the one end of the strip into the smallest curved section (the ends of the label). (See photo below.) I sponged around all four sides of the strips to add some depth to the pickets. I created the grass with the Lakeside Dies and a strip of Garden Green cardstock. I used the full size on the back row of clumps of grass and cut them down for the lower, front row of clumps. Everything except for the sentiment are attached flat to the card. I attached the sentiment with dimensionals.

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of this card with the hyperlinks for ease of adding them to your shopping cart:
